Work Environment

This role is entirely onsite as part of our home care facility, where you will visit patients in their homes across the Orlando area. This dynamic work setting allows for flexibility and autonomy in your schedule, giving you the opportunity to choose your hours Monday through Friday. You will leverage your expertise in a range of environments, adapting your therapeutic techniques to meet individual patient needs and lifestyle preferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their physical capabilities, limitations, and needs in a home environment.
• Develop, implement, and monitor customized treatment plans using a blend of exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to enhance mobility and alleviate pain.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of treatment sessions, tracking patient progress, modifications to treatment plans, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care.
• Reassess patients periodically, redefining goals and adapting treatment strategies as necessary to facilitate optimal recovery.
• Assist and educate patients and their caregivers in the safe use of assistive devices such as walkers, crutches, and other rehabilitation tools to promote independence in daily activities.
• Provide training sessions for patients and families to enhance their understanding of physical therapy procedures, rehabilitation techniques, and post-treatment care.
• Stay updated on best practices in physical therapy and participate in continuing education opportunities to ensure high-quality healthcare delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Home-Based Physical Therapist, you will work with diverse populations, including children and adults dealing with various conditions such as post-operative recovery, chronic pain, neurological disorders, and sports-related injuries. This role provides you with the unique opportunity to directly influence your patients' rehabilitative journey, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life within the familiar surroundings of their home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent degree.
• A valid state license to practice Physical Therapy (DPT preferred).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and their families.
• Ability to utilize word processing and basic computer systems for documentation and reporting.
• Highly adaptable and able to manage the diverse needs and preferences of patients in their home environments.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting, particularly in home health care, is preferred but not required.
• Experience in working with patients across different age groups and with varying rehabilitation needs will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
