Job description

DEFINITION:

The Patient Safety and Risk Manager (PSRM) is responsible for the organization's safety and risk management activities throughout the health system. These activities include leading and promoting High Reliability and a Just Culture within patient safety initiatives, managing and analyzing event data, consulting and conducting educational programs, ensuring compliance with risk management-related standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies leading patient experience initiatives, managing complaints and grievances, with the objective of enhancing patient safety, promoting high-quality care, and minimizing loss.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) required, or attainment within 1 year of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to handle high stress situations.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Experience conducting investigations and root cause analyses.

Ability to develop and deliver staff training programs.

Proficiency with risk management software and reporting tools.

Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
