About This Role

1 Little Meal Community Childcare and Learning Center is seeking an individual who wants to be a part of a close-knit group. Our childcare center is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization that provides free meals to the community and affordable housing to individuals. We launched a childcare learning center in downtown Cartersville for families (single, dual, and military). Our goal is to offer something "different" in Cartersville. We are a childcare center catering to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in a home away from home setting.. 1LMCCLC staff is a small team of women who lead low-ratio classrooms (6-10 students). We offer a 5-day work week from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday, but we will be launching extended hours (7a-midnight) for families working nonstandard hours. After probation, we offer 10 federal holidays, birthdays off, and professional scrubs for a unified appearance.


We are seeking new and seasoned individuals in the Early Childhood Education field, but we are open to employing those opting for a career change. To date, our teachers are from different backgrounds (one is from fast food and one is from retail, Walmart). 1LMCCLC seeks a passionate leader who wants to guide children during activities and learn basic skills.


We require an individual with a clean criminal background check, willingness to commit, patience, a desire to lead/follow, and a desire to love a classroom filled with cuties.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience (not required).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
