Due to growth, we are expanding to 24/7 operations at our Bunge-SCF Grain facility in Fairmount City, IL. Bunge-SCF Grain has been an anchor in the area for over 10 years. We are looking forward to this new growth opportunity to support Bunge and our community.
Position Details:
Rotating 12-hour shifts, days or nights
Pay rate: $20.75 an hour to start, with short-term advancement opportunity
A Day in the Life:
The primary responsibility of the Elevator Operator is the operation of the grain elevator as it pertains to loading, unloading, and transferring grain and grain products in an efficient, safe and sanitary manner. This position will learn how to operate in different areas of the grain facility, beginning with loading barges. Also assist in all other aspects of grain handling, storage, maintaining facilities/equipment, and elevator operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Assist in all areas of the loading, unloading, and transferring of grain and grain products for truck, barge, and rail
  • Inspects barges, trucks, and railcars before loading
  • Operate and monitor more advanced grain handling equipment (grain dryer, grain control room, bin sweeps, and locomotives) on a routine basis
  • Understand all facets of Bunge's safety and environmental programs and demonstrate safe working practices
  • Properly record all required documentation
  • Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Skilled in maintenance, equipment operations, safety programs, and grain operations
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Agricultural experience
