Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement and supply chain activities for electronic and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, purchasing materials, supporting production requirements, and driving cost and delivery performance. Experience with PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) and electronic components is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Procure materials, components, PCBAs, and services to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and supply continuity.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support production and new product introductions.
  • Track and resolve material shortages, delivery issues, and supplier-related concerns.
  • Support inventory management initiatives, including excess and obsolete material reduction.
  • Assist with supplier sourcing, qualification, and evaluation activities.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support engineering changes, alternate sourcing efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
  • 3-7 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience purchasing electronic components, PCBAs, or related materials preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers or electronic suppliers.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • APICS/ASCM certification is a plus.
