Aehr Test Systems is seeking a Quality Manager.
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and customer expectations. This role leads quality assurance activities across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and service functions for semiconductor test and process equipment. The Quality Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages audits, oversees corrective actions, and ensures the delivery of high-quality products to customers.
Essential Responsibilities
Quality Management System
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Serve as the Management Representative for ISO 9001 certification activities.
- Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
- Ensure compliance with documented procedures, work instructions, and quality policies.
- Manage document control, quality records, and change management processes.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Develop and monitor quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards.
- Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and ensure timely closure of quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving process capability, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry quality requirements.
Supplier Quality
- Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Manage supplier quality performance, audits, corrective actions, and scorecards.
- Support incoming inspection and supplier qualification activities for complex PCBAs, electro-mechanical assemblies, and critical components.
Manufacturing Quality
- Establish inspection and quality control processes for manufacturing operations.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring quality requirements are incorporated into manufacturing processes.
- Review nonconforming material reports (NCMRs) and disposition activities.
- Lead efforts to improve first-pass yield, reduce cost of poor quality, and improve overall product reliability.
Customer Quality
- Act as the primary quality contact for customers regarding audits, quality issues, and corrective actions.
- Lead investigations and resolution of customer complaints and field quality issues.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports during customer reviews.
Leadership
- Manage and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and quality technicians.
- Foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Provide training and guidance on quality systems, processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service teams to achieve company quality objectives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive quality management experience in semiconductor equipment, electronics manufacturing, industrial equipment, or a related high-technology manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing and maintaining an ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System.
- Experience working with complex PCB assemblies, electro-mechanical systems, contract manufacturers, and global suppliers.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements and audit processes.
- Proficiency with quality tools including SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, CAPA, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supplier quality management, and reliability principles.
- Ability to analyze quality data and drive data-based decisions.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience with ERP and quality management systems.

Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor.
- Occasional travel to suppliers, contract manufacturers, customer sites, and audit locations.
- Ability to support a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume semiconductor equipment manufacturing environment
