Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

The ECMO Specialist participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care services centered on extracorporeal therapies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Completion of University Health or another ELSO-based ECMO training program is preferred. Minimum 1 year of ECMO experience preferred. Degree preferred. Must have a minimum 2 years critical care experience (PICU, NICU, CICU, EC).  Must obtain BLS, PALS, ACLS and University Hospital System ECMO certifications within 6 months of hire.

LICENSURE

The current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license with the Texas State Board of Health is required.
