Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for the Biology department. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time faculty in Biology are responsible for teaching the objectives of each Biology (BIOL) course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications depend on the course taught. Please see below for minimum qualifications for the various courses taught in the Biology department.
A Master's Degree or higher in Biology is required for the following courses:
BIOL 100, General Biology
BIOL 101, Principles of Biology I
BIOL 102, Principles of Biology II
BIOL 106, Environmental Biology
BIOL 108, General Ecology
BIOL 151, General Botany
BIOL 204, Vertebrate Zoology
BIOL 270, Genetics
A Master's Degree in Biology or higher, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Doctor of Chiropractic, or Doctor of Dentistry is required for the following courses:
BIOL105, Human Biology
BIOL 157, Human Anatomy and Physiology I
BIOL 158, Human Anatomy and Physiology II
BIOL 220, Intro to Cadaver Dissection
BIOL 250, Microbiology
