The Hotel Indigo Birmingham is located in a landmark ArtDeco style building dating from the early 1930s in the city's historic FivePoints South neighborhood. The hotel is situated in the booming and vibranttown of Birmingham near UAB. Hotel Indigo is set in the lively and roaringentertainment district of Birmingham, reminiscent of Bourbon street. Originallydesigned for medical offices and across from the first apothecary inBirmingham, the building became a hotel in the 1980s, but still retains its originalmedical insignia etched above the elevator doors. The hotel's designacknowledges the building's rich history, while incorporating modern amenities,like hardwood floors, spa inspired showers, luxury bath amenities and linens.We are also adding some exciting and tasty options to an area already known asone of the city's premier dining and entertainment districts. We are currently hiring a Laundry Attendant. The LaundryAttendant is responsible for using machines to clean articles such as towelsand bedding. Sorts, folds and stores clean items.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sorts all linen and separates and treats all stains.
Loads laundry into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or othercleaning agents.
Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measuredtime cycles.
Sorts dried articles according to type.
Folds and places items in appropriate locations for storage.
Handles contaminated articles per company, franchise, and OSHA standards.
Maintains the inventory of cleaning supplies and linen; informs the General Managerof any inventory needs.
Maintains all laundry equipment and informs appropriate personnel of maintenanceneeds.
Other duties as assigned.
