Job description

Job Title: Edge Band Operator
Location: Nunica, Michigan

Company Overview:
Versatile is a fast-paced, high-tech custom manufacturing facility located west of Grand Rapids in Nunica, Michigan. We are a wood products manufacturing company supplying the store fixture, furniture, and architectural millwork industries. Come join the Versatile team, where “We Build it Better.”

Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with Friday overtime as needed

Pay Range:
Based on experience

Job Summary:
The Edge Band Operator is responsible for operating semi-automatic and fully automatic edge banding machines, including contour edgebanding machines, to apply edges to wood components with precision. Experience with HOMAG and Biesse machines is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate edge banding machines to apply edging materials to wood components

  • Adjust machine settings for different materials, profiles, and thicknesses

  • Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on equipment

  • Inspect finished components to ensure proper adhesion, alignment, and finish quality

  • Maintain a safe and organized work area and comply with all safety standards

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience operating semi-automatic and fully automatic edge banding machines

  • Experience with contour edgebanding machines preferred

  • Knowledge of HOMAG and Biesse equipment a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • High school diploma or equivalent
