To thrive as a Holistic RN, you need a valid RN license, a strong background in nursing fundamentals, and specialized training in integrative health practices. Familiarity with holistic care tools such as mindfulness techniques, complementary therapies, and standard electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous. Outstanding active listening, emotional intelligence, and patient education skills help Holistic RNs stand out in their holistic approach to patient wellness. These abilities ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses both physical and emotional well-being, supporting optimal health outcomes.
As a Holistic RN, your responsibilities often include performing thorough patient assessments, developing integrative care plans, and incorporating complementary therapies like relaxation techniques or nutrition counseling alongside conventional nursing care. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care that addresses body, mind, and spirit. Clear documentation, ongoing patient education, and advocacy are also central to the role. Expect to divide your time between hands-on care, care planning, interdisciplinary team meetings, and continuous learning about new holistic health modalities.

St. Elizabeth Home, an Illuminus Community, is hiring a Registered Nurse RN. We offer long-term care and short-term rehabilitation in a skilled nursing setting. Originally founded in 1967, St. Elizabeth is located just blocks from downtown Janesville in the beautiful Courthouse Hill Historic District between Upper Courthouse Park and Jefferson Park.
Although small enough to make everyone living and working on campus truly feel like a family, St. Elizabeth offers those we care for a wide range of services and support. The Registered Nurse will identify, provide for, and accept responsibility for the fulfillment of resident’s total nursing needs. This includes all nurse practice activities up to and including assessments, medication administration and monitoring, documentation, all while ensuring the provision of person centered care.
