Job description

Company History: Northern Haserot, a family-owned business since 1878, is a foodservice distributor offering more than 10,000 products, with a focus on center-of-the-plate items. Our offerings encompass portion-controlled meats, custom-cut seafood, fresh local produce, dairy products, premium groceries, frozen foods, coffee, as well as equipment and supplies
Job Overview: Northern Haserot is looking for a Delivery Route Driver to join their team. This position will transport and deliver products by driving a straight truck or tractor/trailer to multipole customers each day. This position will coordinate and work with customers, sales representatives, and other Northern Haserot personnel to make timely and accurate deliveries.
Schedule: Onsite. Monday through Friday 6:00AM until route completion.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections.
  • Maintain a high level of safety while driving, loading, and unloading.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Apply knowledge and skills in maneuvering commercial vehicles in various situations.
  • Must be organized with paperwork, customer payments, and utilize RF Scanners, using Samsara software, with attention to detail and accuracy of delivery.
  • Maintain and foster great relationships with customers as a representative of Northern Haserot.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform frequent pushing and pulling up to 250 pounds using a 2-wheel dolly.
  • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to enter and exit vehicle's cab multiple times daily.
  • Must be able to climb into the truck from ground level as needed for cargo.
  • Must be able to go up and down the ramp at the back of the truck with the 2-wheel dolly regularly.
  • Ability to navigate stairs, slim doorways and hallways with product safely and efficiently.

Job Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial License or for Non-CDL must possess a Chauffeurs License.
  • Manual transmission experience preferred. Automatic experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safe driving, hours of service and inspection and maintenance guidelines.
  • Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation while carrying a CDL.
  • Must meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards set by the company regarding violations.
  • Knowledge of trailer refrigeration and temperature guidelines is preferred.
