PIPESTONE is looking for a Swine Market Selection Technician to join our team! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with pigs and people, has a strong eye for market-ready hogs, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Objective
Mark hog loads following supervisor direction, averaging 20-25 loads per week across the region.
What You'll Do
  • Identify pigs at ideal market weight and execute market strategies
  • Judge weight and identify top-end animals within a population
  • Analyze information to make strategic marketing decisions
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing plans to maximize revenue
  • Drive consistent execution of marketing strategies
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with team members
  • Provide high-level feedback on marketing opportunities using industry insights
  • Manage time efficiently while contributing to a positive team culture
  • Work with pigs and people daily as a goal-oriented team player

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required (Associate's degree preferred)
  • Market-sized pig experience preferred

Work Environment
  • 5-6 hours per day in swine facilities with 270 lb pigs
  • 2-3 hours of daily travel between sites

Physical Requirements
  • On your feet 8-10 hours per day
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, kneeling, and lifting (3-20 lbs regularly)
  • Occasional lifting/pulling up to 50-100 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
