Your Opportunity

The Hog Loader works with other loaders to sort out and drive finishing animals from pens to truck, with special concern for animal welfare and proper handling.

Core Responsibilities

  • Sorts and loads animals in a productive, SAFE and efficient manner.

  • Uses herding board to move animals from pen to aisle.

  • Counts animals onto truck.

  • Maintains cleanliness of crew vehicles and equipment.

  • Respects growers' property and equipment.

  • Presents good company image.

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with company Environmental, Biosecurity and safety policies and procedures in the performance of their job duties.

  • Reads and understands the company's emergency notification process and reviews that policy at their work site.

  • Complies with Smithfield PPE policies.

  • Assists in training other loading employees as required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to work day or night shifts.

  • Must be supportive of the mission of raising swine for human consumption of high quality pork products.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
