Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, California, is seeking a full-time OB Hospitalist to join our growing program in Irvine, CA! Hoag is expanding our Hoag Irvine campus and we are seeking dedicated Ob Physicians to continue to support our mission of delivering the highest levels of care for our community!

Hoag Hospital provides comprehensive, family-centered labor and delivery services in Newport Beach and Irvine, featuring private suites, 24/7 OB hospitalists, and Level 3A NICU care. Located in the Sue & Bill Gross Women's Pavilion, the center supports "golden hour" skin-to-skin contact, specialized care for high-risk pregnancies, and amenities like aromatherapy,, baths, and in-room technology for laboring families.

Labor and Delivery Services at Hoag (Newport Beach & Irvine) Locations: The main unit is the Sue & Bill Gross Women's Pavilion in Newport Beach, featuring 18 labor, delivery, and recovery suites. Hoag Hospital Irvine provides private, home-like birthing suites. Care Team: Staff includes board-certified OB hospitalists, dedicated anesthesiologists, and Magnet nursing staff. Facilities: Private suites include amenities like private bathrooms, sleeper couches for support, and in-room baby warmers. Specialized Care: The hospital offers a 24/7 obstetrics emergency department, a Level 3A NICU for high-risk needs, and a fetal diagnostic center. Support: Services include in-room lactation support, postpartum counseling, and amenities like tea service and aromatherapy. Procedure: For birth, patients are directed to the 5th floor of the Women's Pavilion in Newport for triage.

Facilities:

5th Floor Unit: Features 18 private suites, 3 operating rooms, and a large family waiting area. Post-Delivery: The "golden hour" allows for uninterrupted bonding and skin-to-skin time. Mother Baby Unit: Located on the 7th floor for post-delivery care. Fudge Family Birthing Suites: Ground-floor suites focusing on labor and delivery. * Postpartum Suites: Located on the 6th floor for mother/bab

Position Details:

  • Seeking full-time commitment

  • 12 -hour and 24-hour shifts available

  • Hoag Newport Beach and Hoag Irvine are both high-volume birthing centers

  • Calls are equally divided amongst the group for deliveries, roughly 3 call days per month.

  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team: Anesthesiologists, Maternal Fetal Medicine

  • Seasoned and dedicated RN's and support staff

  • EMR: Epic

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. Degree

  • Graduate from an ACGME program

  • Active California medical license or ability to obtain a California medical license

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology

  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at Hoag Hospital
