Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Massage Therapist administers massage therapy and soft tissue work for clients to restore function, relieve pain, and provide general relaxation. This role plans, prepares and executes safe therapeutic massage plan specific to needs of clients with careful consideration of any restriction. Keeps accurate documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Certificate of completion and competency in Massage Therapy School.
  • Additional department specific requirements are as follows:
  • Cancer Center: Oncology specific training and experience required.
  • Pelvic Health Program: If new graduate of Certification program, completion of at least 3 months training/internship in rehab setting required. Three (3) years' experience preferred.

License Required:

License Preferred: Certifications Required

  • Certified Massage Therapist in the State of California

Certifications Preferred

  • Cancer Center: Oncology Massage Certification or equivalent, Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy Certification preferred.
  • Pelvic Health Program: Prenatal Massage Certification preferred or equivalent, Neuromuscular and Sports Injury Massage Education, Oncology Massage Certification preferred or equivalent, and/or Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy Certification preferred.
