  • Perform complex HLA and histocompatibility testing on patient and donor specimens
  • Perform HLA typing using molecular and serologic methodologies
  • Conduct antibody screening, identification, and transplant-related immunologic testing
  • Perform crossmatching and compatibility testing for organ and tissue transplantation
  • Process and evaluate specimens according to established laboratory procedures
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment
  • Analyze, interpret, validate, and report complex laboratory results within established turnaround times
  • Perform quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Assist with validation, verification, and implementation of new testing methodologies
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and quality-control records
  • Communicate critical or complex findings to pathologists, transplant teams, physicians, and healthcare professionals
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and competency assessment of laboratory staff
  • Monitor inventory and ensure availability of reagents and supplies
  • Participate in process-improvement initiatives
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow laboratory safety and infection-control procedures

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology
  • Valid ASCP (or equivalent) certification
  • 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Substance Abuse Testing
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Ability to perform complex HLA and histocompatibility testing
  • Knowledge of molecular and serologic HLA typing methodologies
  • Experience with antibody screening, identification, and transplant-related immunologic testing
  • Ability to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment
  • Ability to follow CAP, CLIA, laboratory, and applicable transplant/histocompatibility standards
