What is a hive?

Hive jobs refer to tasks or queries that are executed using Apache Hive, a data warehouse software built on top of Hadoop. Hive allows users to read, write, and manage large datasets stored in distributed storage using SQL-like queries. Hive jobs are commonly used for data analysis, reporting, and extracting insights from big data. These jobs can be run through Hive’s interactive shell, web interfaces, or integrated within larger data processing workflows. Professionals managing Hive jobs often work with data engineers, analysts, or developers focusing on big data solutions.

What skills and qualifications are needed to work with Hive?

To thrive as a Hive Data Engineer, you need strong SQL skills, a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, and experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with Apache Hive, Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and tools like Apache Spark, as well as certification in big data technologies, are commonly required. Problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for translating business requirements into efficient data solutions. These skills ensure the ability to manage large-scale data processing, optimize queries, and collaborate effectively across teams for successful data-driven projects.

What are common challenges when optimizing query performance in Hive?

Hive developers often encounter challenges related to query optimization, especially when working with large datasets. Issues such as slow query execution, inefficient joins, and improper partitioning can impact performance. To address these, developers must carefully design table schemas, use appropriate file formats, and leverage indexing and partitioning strategies. Collaborating closely with data engineers and administrators is also essential to ensure optimal resource allocation and performance tuning.

Bee Hive Wellness Mental Health is seeking a dedicated and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese. This full-time position is designed for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families facing developmental and intellectual challenges. As an integral part of our team, you will provide intensive in-community therapeutic services aiming to enhance the well-being and capabilities of our young clients, all while working remotely from the vibrant city of Austin, Texas.

About the Organization

At Bee Hive Wellness Mental Health, we are committed to providing comprehensive mental health services that cater to the unique needs of children and families. Our mission revolves around supporting primary caregivers and empowering youth with developmental and intellectual disabilities through tailored mental health interventions. We strive to cultivate a nurturing environment where each child can thrive, and we are proud to be an advocate for their rights and needs.

As a therapist at Bee Hive Wellness, you will primarily interact with clients in their own homes or in our outpatient center, creating therapeutic environments that are comfortable and conducive to growth. The collaborative spirit of our team fosters an atmosphere where continuous learning and positive outcomes are celebrated.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will:

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, both in-home and at the outpatient clinic, tailored to meet each child’s specific needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote coping strategies, anger management, and social skills among youth.
  • Develop and modify behavior support plans while engaging youth and families in decision-making processes to address in-home challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to coordinate care and recommend best practices.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of paperwork, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss case management and share treatment recommendations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will directly impact children aged 3 to 20 who are facing a variety of developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This position requires an understanding of the unique circumstances that these children may experience, including emotional and behavioral difficulties that can affect their daily lives. By providing culturally competent and bilingual services, you will help bridge communication gaps and enhance therapeutic effectiveness within diverse populations.

Qualifications

To qualify for this rewarding opportunity, you must possess:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with some flexibility for weekend sessions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences would be considered advantageous:

  • Prior experience working with children and families affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Background in providing positive behavior support and implementing behavior modification techniques.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration within clinical settings.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to client homes.
  • A clean background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive pay structure alongside a robust benefits package that includes:

  • A dynamic work culture that values team collaboration and individual contribution.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and job training.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Annual paid time off, allowing for work-life balance.
  • Short and long-term disability insurance for added security.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan to support your future financial stability.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Bee Hive Wellness, we believe in continuous growth and learning for our team members. You will have access to professional development resources, mentorship opportunities, and workshops that allow you to further enhance your clinical skills and career trajectory. As the organization expands its services and reach, leadership opportunities will also arise for those looking to take on additional responsibilities.
