The Opportunity

Are you passionate about energy markets, enterprise technology, and helping customers solve complex business challenges? Hitachi Energy is looking for a Senior ETRM Presales Consultant to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy trading and risk management.

In this highly visible customer-facing role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to utilities, power generators, energy retailers, natural gas marketers, commodity trading organizations, and integrated energy companies. Working at the intersection of technology and business, you will help customers understand how our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solutions address operational, commercial, risk, and regulatory challenges across the energy value chain.

You will partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Professional Services, and Product Development teams to develop solution strategies, lead customer discovery sessions, deliver compelling demonstrations, and support complex enterprise sales opportunities. Your expertise in energy markets and ability to connect business needs with innovative software solutions will directly influence customer success and business growth.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead customer discovery sessions to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and technical requirements.

  • Translate customer needs into solution architectures and business workflows that demonstrate measurable value.

  • Design and deliver engaging software demonstrations tailored to customer priorities and business outcomes.

  • Partner with Account Executives to support strategic sales opportunities and competitive pursuits.

  • Support RFI, RFQ, and RFP responses with compelling technical and functional solution expertise.

  • Design and execute proof-of-concept activities and customer evaluations.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in energy trading, risk management, settlements, market operations, and regulatory reporting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide customer insights that influence product strategy and innovation.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Energy Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of enterprise software presales experience supporting complex sales cycles.

  • 10+ years of experience within the power and/or natural gas industries.

  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience working with ETRM software solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of energy trading, risk management, scheduling, settlements, regulatory reporting, or market operations.

  • Proven ability to deliver executive-level presentations, customer workshops, and solution demonstrations.
