Position Description:
The College of Nursing and Health Professions (CONHP) at Valparaiso University invites applications for an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Nursing. This is a semester by semester appointment teaching one to two courses per semester.
This position is an adjunct appointment, beginning August 2026. The responsibilities of this position including teaching undergraduate courses in the BSN program. The successful candidate will hold an earned masters degree in nursing.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • 2-3 years teaching experience
  • In-classroom teaching
Additional Information:
Valparaiso University is a distinguished private university of 2,500 students located in Valparaiso, IN, one hour southeast of downtown Chicago. Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition. The College of Nursing and Health Professions has programs in nursing (BSN and DNP), health care leadership (BSHL), health administration (MHCA), health science (BSHS), public health (BSPH and MPH), physician assistant studies (MSPA), and occupational therapy (DrOT, OTD).
This position is an adjunct appointment, beginning August 2026. The responsibilities of this position include teaching an undergraduate psychiatric nursing course in the BSN program. The successful candidate will hold an earned master's or doctoral degree in nursing.
