Job Summary and Qualifications

Works in hazardous and bio-hazardous areas of the lab and is subject to use of xylene and formalin. Sufficient sight (including color discrimination), manual dexterity and mobility to function effectively in exercising job responsibilities in a fast paced, high volume laboratory.

What you will do in this Role:

  • Performs routine histology procedures including receipt, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and preparation of routine and special stains.
  • · Performs Immunohistochemistry and other special procedures as requested by the Pathologist
  • · Responsible for accurate filing of slide/blocks and equipment maintenance and operation.
  • · Responsible for excellent customer service

 Qualifications:

  • HT(ASCP) or equivalent certification required within 18 months of hire, transfer or promotion.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in histology and immunohistochemistry
