NORTHSIDE HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Radiologic Technologist FLSA: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: s Assigned
REPORTS TO: ssigned Supervisor, Manager, or Coordinator
JCC#: 430 EEOC: B
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Operates X-Ray and fluoroscopic equipment to produce routine radiographs of designated portions of the human body for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. This position is characterized by the ability to perform intravenous, subdural, and arterial radiographic studies and work in hospital areas requiring autonomy and indirect supervision. The Registered Radiologic Technologist/Screen Atlanta works with a female population over thirty five (35) years of age.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. RADIOLOGY
1. Inserts intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies.
2. Performs imaging for myelograms and therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium.
3. May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures.
4. Provides on-call support for Operating Room and GI Lab as scheduled.
5. Provides assistance with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and In-Patient areas.
6. Performs portable x-ray imaging as ordered.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the duties listed above, all Registered Radiologic Technologists will be required to perform the following:
1. Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologists. Performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with specific operating instructions and safety standards.
2. Determines proper technical factors and adjusts radiographic equipment accordingly.
3. ssesses patient condition throughout procedure and observes for adverse reactions. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.
4. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to manager.
5. Other duties as assigned by supervision.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
1. Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
2. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
3. bility to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.
4. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
1. Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.
