Job description

A leading transportation and logistics company in Crestwood, IL is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This role is ideal for a technician with strong diagnostic skills and hands-on experience repairing and maintaining dry vans, reefers, beverage, side-load and flatbed trailers. Responsibilities: Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers and related components Repair and replace brakes, suspensions, axles, landing gear, air systems, electrical wiring, and lighting Conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with DOT and company standards Troubleshoot ABS systems, air lines, and structural damage Weld and fabricate MIG, TIG, and Stick Complete work orders accurately and maintain detailed service documentation Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean, organized work environment Qualifications: Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic in the transportation or construction industry.

Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment. 2+ years of experience working as a trailer mechanic. Strong understanding of air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.

Ability to diagnose issues independently and work efficiently. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Compensation & Benefits: Competitive wages based on experience: $25 - $35/hr. Comprehensive benefits package, including 100% company paid health coverage for employee and family. Shift: Days, shift 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday).
