Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Cleaning
โข Clean guest rooms to luxury-boutique standards when personnel management requires
โข Operate laundry machines, fold linens, and manage linen cycles
โข Conduct daily room, hallway, and public-area inspections
โข Ensure every room meets The Amaya's brand standards for cleanliness and presentation
โข Support swift and efficient room turns on high-occupancy days
Team Leadership & Scheduling
โข Train housekeepers and laundry attendants on proper cleaning techniques and brand presentation
โข Lead by example with a calm, professional, detail-oriented approach
โข Help with scheduling, task assignments, and optimizing staffing levels
โข Provide coaching, feedback, and performance guidance
โข Uphold a positive and collaborative work environment
Inventory & Supply Control
โข Maintain par levels for linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies
โข Order supplies and track usage to minimize waste
โข Organize storage rooms and ensure items are properly rotated
Brand Standards & Quality Control
โข Ensure guest rooms follow all design and presentation standards (bed finishing, lighting, layout)
โข Report any maintenance issues and follow up to ensure completion
โข Maintain a consistently high standard of visual and environmental quality
Safety & Compliance
โข Enforce cleaning chemical safety and PPE requirements
โข Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and housekeeping office
โข Follow all hotel security, key control, and lost-and-found procedures
โข Oversee the housekeeping department budget, take inventory, and ensure there is a stock of adequate cleaning supplies
โข Track of areas cleaned by room attendants and contact the front office to handle room damage or maintenance needs
โข Supervise housekeeping staff as they perform daily assignments, including cleaning all guest rooms and public areas
โข Lead, hire, and train hotel housekeeping staff to adhere to our high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction
โข Arrange for cleaning equipment repairs as needed and keep all other equipment in good working condition
Qualifications
Required
โข Prior housekeeping supervisor or manager experience
โข Ability to clean rooms and operate laundry equipment at a professional standard
โข Exceptional attention to detail and pride in work
โข Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support staff
โข Ability to stay calm and organized during high-occupancy or stressful periods
โข Strong communication and organizational skills
โข Ability to lift, bend, push carts, and stand for extended periods
โข Comfort with basic technology (phones, tablets, communication apps)
Preferred
โข Boutique or luxury hotel housekeeping experience
โข Experience training teams or onboarding new staff
โข Knowledge of eco-friendly cleaning practices
โข At least 2+ years experience in hospitality or guest services
โข At least 3 years of experience in a senior role in the housekeeping department
โข Well-versed in environmental services (EVS) including sanitation protocol and procedures, and how to use cleaning supplies and equipment
โข This position requires a high school diploma or GED
โข Must possess excellent leadership, organizing, and customer service skills
