A confidential manufacturing company is seeking two motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyers to join its Purchasing team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to build a career in supply chain and procurement. While previous purchasing or manufacturing experience is preferred, we also welcome candidates with strong administrative experience who are organized, eager to learn, and possess excellent critical thinking skills.

1. Job Summary

The Junior Buyer supports the Purchasing team by assisting with the procurement of materials, components, and services necessary to support manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for creating purchase orders, monitoring supplier deliveries, maintaining purchasing records, and helping ensure materials are available to meet production schedules.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position works closely with Production, Planning, Inventory, Receiving, Accounting, and suppliers to support efficient purchasing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement

• Create and process purchase orders for production materials, indirect supplies, and services.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Research products and obtain competitive quotes from vendors.
• Assist with sourcing new suppliers as needed.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, supplier information, and order status within the ERP system.

Supplier & Vendor Coordination

• Communicate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, shortages, and discrepancies.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with suppliers and the Accounting department.

Production & Inventory Support

• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Inventory, and Receiving teams to support material availability.
• Assist with inventory management efforts to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
• Support production schedules by ensuring timely procurement of required materials.

Reporting & Administrative Support

• Prepare purchasing reports, spreadsheets, and key performance metrics for management.
• Maintain organized purchasing files and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing processes.
• Perform other purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.

3. Qualifications

Required

• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn purchasing processes and develop within a supply chain career.

Preferred

• One (1) or more years of purchasing, procurement, materials planning, or related administrative experience.
• Manufacturing experience.
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, inventory control, and material planning.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers or supporting purchasing functions.

4. Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer.
• Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
• Occasional walking throughout the manufacturing and warehouse facility.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

5. Working Conditions

• On-site position located in Anaheim, California.
• Fast-paced office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment.
• Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM schedule with occasional overtime as business needs require.
