As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities and restoring muscle function in accordance with physician prescriptions.
• Assessing each patient's functional level using diagnostic tests that evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and overall physical abilities.
• Overseeing and guiding Physical Therapy Assistants in the implementation of care plans and therapeutic exercises.
• Administering manual therapies, including traction and massage, while instructing clients in non-manual exercises to promote improved mobility.
• Evaluating clients' home environments to provide strategic recommendations for enhancing their independence.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations that include preparing clinical documentation such as initial assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
• Collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and attending case conferences to discuss patient progress.
• Maintaining timely and accurate records and communications with physicians and case managers regarding patient status and responses to therapy.
• Providing education and supervision to clients and their families about therapeutic devices and overall wellness practices.
• Completing functional assessments and adapting care plans to ensure the most effective rehabilitation process.

Your role will focus primarily on orthopedic patients suffering from musculoskeletal conditions, post-surgical recovery, and chronic pain management. You will work with diverse individuals, including elderly clients seeking to regain mobility as well as younger patients recovering from sports injuries. Each treatment plan will be customized, with your expertise guiding their rehabilitation journey.

To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree (Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred).
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Florida, in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• A strong commitment to client care, collaborating with team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to connect with patients and their families.
• High energy and a positive attitude, fostering a motivating environment for recovery.

Ideal candidates will also have:

• At least one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in acute care or home health.
• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and patient management systems.
