Job description

The Opportunity:

The Copy Supervisor plays a pivotal role in developing high-quality copy and content across the agency's portfolio of accounts.  This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in working cross functionally with medical, account, and other internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a PharmD and will leverage this to create clear and compelling copy using scientific and clinical data.

Citrus is looking to fill both full time and freelance positions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Write clinical, market access, payer marketing, and patient engagement copy that can create impact across all brands.
  • Understand and develop copy that is reflective of brand payer and patient support strategies.
  • Prepare materials for client submissions by referencing and annotating text according to client-specific style/guidelines.
  • Take ownership for quality, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
  • Negotiate timing with Project and Account Management when appropriate.
  • Work closely with Designers to visualize data/information
  • Stay abreast of current industry practices and regulatory requirements that affect medical content and copy.
  • Participate in professional development activities on a regular basis.
  • Communicate with the Creative Director about the status of accounts.
  • Establish credibility internally and with clients through subject matter expertise, critical thinking and excellent communication skills.
  • Provide direction and guidance to junior writers and help manage work.
  • Consult with Creative Director regarding resourcing needs.

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical and market access and/or payer copywriting at a pharmaceutical company or healthcare communications agency
  • Experience working in an agency environment or with high-profile brands.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Advertising, Communications, Marketing or a related field.  Candidates with a PharmD are highly encouraged to apply.  
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of copywriting and conceptual skills.

  • Therapeutic experience with Rare Disease a plus.
