Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, CA is seeking a Medical Director to lead our growing movement disorders program. The Medical Director is pivotal in steering the Hoag Movement Disorders Program, dedicated to elevating care standards and community service. As a Hoag medical staff member, the role will span from performing outpatient clinical care in an office-based setting to spearheading the program's strategic development, management, and visionary planning. Moreover, the position entails active involvement in clinical and translational research, along with philanthropical efforts, aiming to pioneer advancements in movement disorders care. This commitment aims to enhance patient outcomes while positioning Hoag as a regional leader in movement disorders healthcare and innovation. 


We are seeking a physician leader who is interested in shaping and directing our movement disorders program with strong executive alignment, philanthropic backing, and institutional momentum -- with an expanding population of patients seeking the highest in quality care and providers.


Position Details:

  • Full-Time Opportunity in Newport Beach, CA. 
  • The role would entail clinical neurology up to 90% of  the time and remaining administrative time developing and managing the      program.
  • Growing movement disorders program demand in community.  Hoag is positioned to be the leading movement disorders      program in Orange County, CA
  • Comprehensive Team: Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Pain Management 
  • Growing program:  Main hospital in Newport Beach, CA.  New hospital scheduled to be complete in Irvine, CA in 2026
  • Efficiency:  We emphasize getting patients  scheduled for consults and treatment in a highly efficient manner
  • Quality:  Hoag continues to delivery high-level of  care with excellent patient satisfaction scores

Highlights:

  • Hoag is making significant investments to support this vision. We are currently undergoing a $30 million renovation of our Neurosciences facility to enable physical co-location of neurology, neurosurgery, imaging, infusion services, rehabilitation, and a research infrastructure within a unified neurosciences environment. In addition, we are about to open our new $1.3 billion, state-of-the-art Irvine hospital campus, further expanding our regional footprint and clinical capabilities.
  • Comprehensive Parkinson's and broader movement disorders program

Requirements:

  • American Board Certified/ Eligible in Neurology
  • Fellowship completion in Movement Disorders from ACGME      program
  • Must have or be eligible for California State Medical licensure
  • Must be interested in participating in clinical program research and development
  • A passion for providing excellent clinical care and excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative      / team-oriented environment are a must.
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Hoag Hospital
