Job description

We're looking for an admitted attorney for an extremely promising Post-Conviction Relief Attorney position within a premier law firm with lots of room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law and further their career with an established firm in the Rancho Cucamonga area. As the Post-Conviction Relief Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney. We're looking to add an attorney with previous litigation and/or appellate experience to join our team and handle post-conviction relief. The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will manage their caseload, as well as client interaction, and can collaborate with our wonderful Post-Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.
Responsibilities
  • Advise the client on their legal rights in matters and draw up legal documents about their case
  • Responsible for post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation etc.
  • Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position would have interactions with both criminal and immigration practices
  • Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about the best strategies
  • Handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm
  • Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Manage workload of cases
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits

Qualifications
  • Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience
  • Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level
  • A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with their fellow associates
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required
  • Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber

Pay Range: $80,000 to $110,000 annual salary
Pay ranges can be exceeded depending on experience on a case-by-case basis.
