Paladin Security is Hiring a Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard!

Location: Kingston, ON
Site: Kingston Health Sciences Centre (Various Hospital Sites)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Day & Night Shifts (08:00โ€“20:00 / 20:00โ€“08:00)
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Pay Rate: CA$18.35 - CA$22.61 per hour

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and professional Healthcare Security Guards to support Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), Southeastern Ontario's leading acute care, specialty care, research, and teaching hospital.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced healthcare environments and are passionate about protecting patients, visitors, healthcare workers, and hospital assets. Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to remain calm during emergencies and critical incidents.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional and highly visible security presence throughout hospital facilities
  • Greet, assist, and direct patients, visitors, staff, and contractors
  • Protect hospital personnel, patients, buildings, and assets
  • Conduct interior and exterior security patrols
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, and hospital code situations
  • Support patient watches and monitor high-risk situations
  • Investigate incidents and complete detailed reports and documentation
  • Enforce hospital policies, procedures, and applicable by-laws
  • Manage access control systems, keys, and parking enforcement activities
  • Assist with safety inspections and security audits
  • Work independently and collaboratively with hospital staff and emergency responders
  • Support a safe, secure, and welcoming healthcare environment

Requirements

Must Have
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider
  • Ability to maintain a clean-shaven face for N95 mask fit testing
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum two doses)
  • Immunization records for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Varicella
    • Pertussis
    • Tuberculosis (TB Step 1 & Step 2)
  • Full MMR-V immunization completed prior to hire
  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Full-time availability with a minimum six-month commitment
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Stay Safe Certifications
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
Nice to Have
  • Minimum 6 months of security experience
  • Healthcare security experience
  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
  • Experience working in healthcare, public service, or high-interaction environments
