Job description

Description: We are an all - inclusive organization joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. As a growing, mission focused, and future-oriented association of YMCAs, the Metro YMCA of the Oranges has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, mission-driven, candidate to join our team. Requirements:

Essential Functions: 

  • Ensure the YMCA is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.   
  • Wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, and painting, vacuuming rooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairs, gym area and grounds.   
  • Record and report all needed repairs; repair as directed.   
  • Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.   
  • Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies.   
  • Set up and breakdown of all functions and events.   
  • Repair equipment as needed.   
  • Performs other duties as assigned.   

Requirements/Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.   
  • Three (3) years or more, in general maintenance or related experience preferred.   
  • Ability to interpret written instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.   
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.   
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.   
  • Understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.   
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
