Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer serves to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment on the design of mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation/upgrade projects. You will provide technical leadership for the creation of construction drawings and specifications, studies, and master planning efforts. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to develop collaborative working relationships. The project markets include infrastructure, higher education, healthcare, mission critical, and institutional.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of building types.
  • Perform load and energy calculations with software such as IES and similar programs.
  • Conduct existing building surveys and document existing mechanical systems.
  • Develop system design and selection of equipment based on engineering calculation and analysis.
  • Develop project specifications.
  • Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies.
  • Complete code compliance research.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Provide construction administration services, including site visits during construction, submittal review, and RFI responses.
  • Perform QA/QC of design work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • You possess an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • You have a minimum of 2-5 years of design experience in HVAC and power piping systems.
  • You are familiar with relevant codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to learn and grow.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel.

Travel: Up to 15%

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
