Job description

Licensed NYC Superintendent – Ground-Up Affordable Housing


Location: NYC 5 Boroughs, Westchester County, CT, and Northern NJ


Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Benefits


Start Date: Immediate Hire


Our client is a highly respected and well-established General Contractor specializing in the construction of ground-up affordable housing, multifamily, mid-rise, and high-rise residential developments throughout New York City, Westchester County, Connecticut, and Northern New Jersey.


Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Licensed NYC Superintendent to oversee large-scale ground-up construction projects from site mobilization through completion.


Requirements

  • Valid NYC DOB Superintendent License (Required)
  • 10+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years as a Lead Superintendent
  • Proven experience managing ground-up affordable housing, multifamily, mid-rise, high-rise, or similar large-scale residential projects
  • Strong understanding of NYC construction practices, DOB regulations, inspections, safety requirements, and scheduling
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and ownership representatives
  • Proficiency with Procore
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day field operations on ground-up construction projects
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and field personnel
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Manage site logistics, quality control, and safety compliance
  • Conduct daily reports, progress meetings, and schedule updates
  • Coordinate DOB inspections and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Review and track RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and project closeout activities
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and Consultants

  • Maintain project documentation within Procore


Physical Requirements

Candidates must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, including:

  • Climbing multiple flights of stairs on active construction sites
  • Walking on uneven terrain and unfinished surfaces
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Lifting and carrying materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
  • Accessing all areas of active construction sites safely and efficiently


Additional Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between project sites as required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must provide an updated resume that includes a detailed project list outlining project names, locations, sizes, values, and specific responsibilities
