Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Applications Engineer โ€“ Mass Spectrometry to provide advanced technical leadership in the development, optimization, and deployment of mass spectrometry applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in analytical instrumentation, application development, customer support, and technical problemโ€‘solving.

This role involves collaborating with customers, engineering teams, product management, and R&D teams to deliver innovative mass spectrometry solutions, improve application performance, and support complex scientific workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced technical expertise and leadership for mass spectrometry applications and workflows.

Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods using LCโ€‘MS, GCโ€‘MS, and highโ€‘resolution mass spectrometry platforms.

Lead customer engagements including technical demonstrations, proofโ€‘ofโ€‘concepts, troubleshooting, and application support.

Analyze complex analytical data and provide recommendations for workflow improvements.

Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and product teams on product enhancements and new application development.

Support instrument evaluation, testing, validation, and performance optimization.

Create technical documentation, application notes, training materials, and best practice guides.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across application teams.

Identify customer challenges and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Support field teams with advanced troubleshooting and customer escalations.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in mass spectrometry and analytical sciences.

Required Qualifications

Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.

6โ€“12 years of experience in Mass Spectrometry applications, analytical instrumentation, or scientific technology solutions.

Strong handsโ€‘on experience with LCโ€‘MS, GCโ€‘MS, and mass spectrometry workflows.

Expertise in method development, optimization, validation, and analytical troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of mass spectrometry principles, instrumentation, and data interpretation.

Experience working with crossโ€‘functional teams including engineering, R&D, product management, and customers.

Excellent communication, technical presentation, and problemโ€‘solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with highโ€‘resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) platforms.

Knowledge of proteomics, metabolomics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research applications.

Experience with mass spectrometry data processing and analysis software.

Familiarity with laboratory workflows, automation, and scientific informatics systems.

Experience supporting enterprise customers, technical sales, or field applications engineering.
