Construction Hoist Operator | $20/hour | Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4:30pm

Job Description
In this position, you will support a construction job site by safely operating temporary construction hoists, including personnel and material elevators. You will help transport workers, tools, equipment, and materials to designated levels while following all safety procedures, monitoring load limits, and keeping communication clear with supervisors and ground crews.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate construction hoists and elevators to transport personnel, equipment, tools, and materials between floors
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of hoists, controls, cables, gates, and safety devices
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety procedures at all times
  • Maintain clear communication with ground crews, supervisors, and other workers throughout daily operations
  • Monitor load weights and passenger/material capacity to ensure safe operating limits are not exceeded
  • Maintain operational logs, inspection records, maintenance checks, and incident reports as required
  • Identify and report mechanical issues, unsafe conditions, or safety concerns immediately
  • Assist with basic maintenance, housekeeping, and cleanliness of hoist equipment and surrounding work areas
  • Control access to elevators to ensure only authorized personnel and approved materials are transported
  • Adjust work activities as site conditions, weather, or project needs change
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous construction elevator, hoist, forklift, equipment operation, or construction site experience preferred
  • Valid operator certification if required by state, local, or job site regulations
  • Knowledge of construction site safety standards and OSHA guidelines preferred
  • Ability to read and understand load charts, operation manuals, and site safety instructions
  • Strong attention to safety, detail, and communication
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions from site leadership
