Job description

An Ohio-based company backed by a Fortune 500 corporation is seeking a Sales Manager - a motivated, results-driven leader ready to take full ownership of our door-to-door sales and canvassing operations. This is not a desk job. You'll be in the field leading from the front, building teams, and creating a performance-driven culture that wins.

This is a salaried position ($100K+) plus performance incentives for a proven leader who can recruit, train, and hold both salespeople and canvassers accountable to activity and results.

Position Overview

The Sales Manager will build, lead, and scale both the Prospecting (Canvassing) Team and the Door-to-Door Sales Team, ensuring strong field activity, consistent lead generation, and exceptional sales performance. You will be responsible for daily execution, training, team development, and hitting company revenue and growth goals.

Youโ€™ll set the tone - driving measurable field performance, maintaining accountability, and reporting activity and results directly to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, manage, and grow the Canvassing and Door-to-Door Sales Teams, establishing clear roles, expectations, and accountability systems.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor canvassers, field reps, and team leads to master the sales process from first contact to closing.
  • Lead by example in the field - engaging with customers, coaching sales reps, and modeling successful behaviors.
  • Implement daily activity standards (doors knocked, leads generated, appointments set, closes achieved) and ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Use CRM tools to track and report performance, measure KPIs, and provide daily/weekly updates to executive leadership.
  • Conduct structured team meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations to ensure alignment between field activity, lead flow, and installation capacity.
  • Create a winning culture where high performance, accountability, and teamwork are the standard.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience running door-to-door or outside sales teams, preferably in home improvement, roofing, or B2C sales.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and motivating high-performance teams.
  • Strong understanding of the sales funnel, lead management, and KPI tracking.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-based environment with high visibility.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
What We Provide
  • Base salary: $100,000+ plus performance-based incentives.
  • Company-provided truck program, iPad, and GoPro.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare and dental.
  • Leadership and sales training from top industry consultants.
  • The opportunity to build and lead one of the strongest field sales organizations in the Midwest.
Ready to Build the Best?

If you're a leader who thrives on building teams, creating opportunity, and driving field success - this is your next step.
