To thrive as an Autism Specialist, you need a solid background in psychology, education, or social work, often supported by a relevant degree and experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), assessment tools, and specialized communication systems like PECS or AAC devices is highly valuable. Both aspects can coexist, but they are distinct concepts.
