Position Overview

BeVera Solutions, LLC is seeking a Security Engineer to support cybersecurity and compliance efforts for the CDC Office of Advanced Molecular Detection (OAMD). The Security Engineer provides expert information system security and compliance support for CDC computing, data, and cloud environments. This role ensures systems comply with CDC, HHS, and federal cybersecurity requirements while maintaining authorization for operation across hybrid infrastructure platforms. This position is based in Atlanta, GA and requires on-site presence three (3) days per week. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to BeVera Solutions, LLC.

NOTE: Position Contingent upon award of contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical security expertise across CDC enterprise computing, cloud, and data platforms.
  • Support system certification and accreditation (C&A) activities, including development and maintenance of SSPs, SOPs, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring documentation.
  • Coordinate with CDC ISSOs, OCIO, cybersecurity offices, and system owners to ensure compliance with federal security requirements.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning, security assessments, remediation tracking, and software security reviews.
  • Support secure system architecture design, including access controls, authentication, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Implement and maintain secure access solutions, including HSPD-12/PIV authentication.
  • Support incident response, security reporting, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide security guidance during infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and application deployments.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting security for federal IT systems.
  • Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA three (3) days per week (hybrid schedule).
  • Demonstrated experience with ATO processes and NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience securing Linux, virtualized, HPC, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized cloud services.
  • Strong documentation and stakeholder coordination skills.
