PACKING PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – JENNERSTOWN

FULL-TIME – 40 hours per week

Rotating shifts

One Saturday shift every three weeks

JOB INFORMATION:

In compliance with Company, site, and local, state, and federal rules, the packing pharmacy technician is the second step in the workflow to accurately, efficiently, and safely provide prescription medications to populations in long-term care facilities in PA and/or nationally.

Each packing pharmacy technician pulls medications from shelves to be labeled for an individual patient while ensuring accuracy of the medication, dosage, and quantity. Hand-packing of a medication order may be required on occasion. Work must be completed by the daily cut-off time by which all prescription requests must be processed and sent. Production and error metrics are collected and viewed to guide operational and staffing decisions.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a pharmacy technician.

Medical experience may be helpful if that experience provided a familiarity with medications.

This job requires the incumbent to stand 100% of their work time at their station except when moving to collect labels, retrieve or return supplies, and place completed work as directed. This job also requires bending, crouching, and reaching to gather medications and supplies.

All employees are required to assist with the cleanliness and organization of the general work area as well as one’s own space.

Packing pharmacy technicians at our closed pharmacy work rotating shifts. Out of a four-week time frame a tech will work: 8 AM - 4 PM for a week, 9 AM – 5 PM for a week, 10 AM - 6 PM for a week, and 12 PM – 8 PM for a week. Each packing pharmacy technician works one Saturday out of three. The Saturday shift is 8 AM - 4 PM regardless of one's shift assignment during that week. Additionally, an employee scheduled for a regular Saturday shift is off a day during that week.
