Coordinator to help us keep raising the bar.


Compensation - $22-$27 per hour 


The Digital Operator is responsible for producing complete specialized digital projects in compliance with job specifications and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Coordinates workload schedule to meet customer time frame requirements while achieving optimum productivity. Performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output. Works closely with other staff members to exceed customer satisfaction and service expectations.


As the Digital Operator and a member of the Production Team, you are accountable for:

  • Meeting the department production and quality goals.
  • Playing a key role in meeting company-wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals, such as guaranteed satisfaction and value for our customers.
  • Contributing to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth.


Responsibilities and Duties:

General and Administrative

  • Coordinate with the Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs, and when necessary reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.
  • Comply with all OHSA safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with the Print Supervisor and the Production Team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that both sales and customer objectives are met.
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company Procedure Manual.

Digital Press Operations

  • Act as a Secondary Digital Operator to assist in the Digital department when necessarily. 
  • Process handwork assembly according to specifications.
  • Clean and disinfect workstation.
  • Operate the digital press in accordance with equipment operating procedures.
  • Retrieve the correct work order and load the job into the machine according to specifications.
  • Input the appropriate configuration based on job specifications and requirements.
  • Receive and output digital files for use in completion of work order.
  • Assist in and perform operation of digital presses to produce complete customized jobs.
  • Assist in and perform completion of all digital press operator functions as noted on the docket.
  • Visually inspect the job for imperfections and adjust accordingly.
  • Package jobs, complete work orders, tickets, and delivery receipts as necessary and placed in their assigned areas.
  • Record and maintain work/job information onto an activity sheet for tracking purposes.
  • Perform quality controls on the assigned machine/ equipment.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns, conduct minor repairs, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Operate assigned equipment/machine in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Control and adjust machine settings when required.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety equipment.
  • Responsible for cleaning and machine setup of assigned equipment/machine
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise and/or report to the Print Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the area and the machine is kept in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Equipment and Supplies

  • Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures and update maintenance logs.
  • Understand and perform all troubleshooting procedures on the digital press.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of supplies. Order and stock supplies as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Inform supervisor of equipment problems.
  • Place service calls and coordinate with the vendor for the repair of equipment as needed.
  • Perform repairs and replace machine consumables as needed.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED with experience or vocational/technical certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a print facility.
  • Previous print and/or machine knowledge/experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in operating machinery is an asset.
  • Good understanding of digital press (i.e. Indigo/HP 6900, 12000, 100k) functions.
  • Familiarity with handling digital files.
  • Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positive attitude.
  • Good written, verbal and mathematical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and hand eye coordination.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of the team.
  • Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to workstation.
  • Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by the hiring manager.
