Are you the mechanic everyone calls when the equipment won't run? Do you thrive on diagnosing hydraulic issues, keeping heavy equipment operating, and working independently in the field?

CDA Precast is looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in quality work, values safety, and enjoys the challenge of troubleshooting heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery. What You'll Do

As our Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you'll be responsible for keeping our fleet and heavy equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and controls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
  • Respond to field service calls quickly and professionally.
  • Complete accurate repair documentation, including labor and parts used.
  • Maintain your tools and service equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA standards.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who can work independently, think critically, and solve problems in the field.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
  • Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience (required).
  • Experience working on heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and similar machinery preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, hydraulic schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus but not required).
  • Must provide your own professional-grade tools.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively outdoors in all seasons.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires:

  • Standing and walking throughout a 10-hour shift.
  • Frequent use of hand and power tools.
  • Bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Working in ALL weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Good vision and hearing to safely perform mechanical repairs.
