Job description

SUMMARY:

The Courtesy Room Clerk is responsible for maintaining the employee courtesy room by issuing, collecting, cleaning, repairing, and organizing employee uniforms and radios. This position ensures uniforms are clean, available, and distributed efficiently while providing excellent customer service to employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue uniforms and radios to employees in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Collect, sort, launder, dry, iron, fold, and organize employee uniforms.
  • Return cleaned uniforms to designated employee bags or storage locations.
  • Ensure all uniforms and radios are signed in and out according to departmental guidelines.
  • Prepare and organize dry cleaning for pickup and return.
  • Pull and stage uniforms needed for upcoming shifts.
  • Perform basic repairs and mending of uniforms using basic sewing techniques.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and inventory of the courtesy room.
  • Safely operate laundry equipment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to all employees.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Previous laundry, housekeeping, customer service, or related experience is preferred but not required.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must work well in a team environment.ย 
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills required.
  • Basic sewing skills preferred.
  • Must be able to sort by color and/or pattern.
