About the Role:
Machines and equipment are fundamental to our modern operation. The Machine Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently operating the machine(s) in their assigned area per ROCKWOOL standards, specifications, and policies as well as executing all tasks in compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you effectively operate, clean, troubleshoot, and perform basic preventative maintenance to the machinery in the assigned area, supporting consistent flow of high-quality product on the production line, continuous improvement, and operational uptime
What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a manufacturing, aggregate, or industrial setting and working with automated equipment required.
  • Prior machine operating experience required, including cleaning, calibrating, and performing basic maintenance.
  • Possess a mechanical mindset and the ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to work around high-heat industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office required.
  • Strong desire to train and grow into a Key Technician in the future as positions become available.
  • Ability to use powered industrial equipment, such as a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Grow and develop the team by training new hires and sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Act as a ROCKWOOL ambassador demonstrating our core values of Ambition, Integrity, Responsibility and Efficiency.
  • Demonstrated or proven:
    • Organizational and analytical skills;
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills;

What You'll Do:
  • Safely and efficiently manufacture quality Stone Insulation ensuring production at the highest possible output, maintaining the high standard of quality expected by our customers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Make product changes efficiently, maintaining a smooth uninterrupted flow of product.
  • Basic troubleshooting of equipment and act as a first line defense for process, mechanical, and technical issues.
  • Ensure volumes are produced and delivered against production plan and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the production line in your assigned area.
  • Perform quality tests on products using specialized lab equipment.
  • Adhere to established quality and environmental standards to identify and mitigate/escalate quality or environmental risks/issues.
