Job description

We anticipate the need for one or more Electric Meter Helper(s) to join our Xcel Energy Team at our Rice Street Service Center in St Paul, MN. Starting rate is $32.51 per hour with a thereafter rate of $36.44 per hour.

This position will be posted for 10 Working Days from July 24, 2026, - August 11, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general housekeeping functions.
  • Operates forklift in Loading/unloading equipment shipments, and in moving inventory/stock.
  • Fills, cleans, packages, ships, receives meter orders from other areas.
  • Delivers/ picks up materials as required.
  • Completes receipt/ shipment/ ordering documentation as required.
  • Works with other shop and field personnel in prioritizing and completion of work and maintenance of appropriate record and paperwork.
  • Accepts additional training required by the company to keep abreast of metering technology and automation techniques.

This position will require lifting, pulling and stretching.

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work and get along with other people, be able to meet public.
  • AC/DC Fundamentals.
