Part-Time Warehouse Associate – Forklift


Location: Waterloo, IA 50701
Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week
Hours: Three 8-hour shifts per week
Preferred Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Alternative Schedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday may be considered
Pay: $19.50 per hour W-2

We are seeking a dependable, organized Part-Time Warehouse Associate to support warehouse and material operations for a leading telecommunications company in Waterloo, Iowa. This is a hands-on position involving receiving, stocking, inventory control, shipping, material handling, and general warehouse upkeep.


The ideal candidate has previous warehouse experience, is comfortable operating a forklift and pallet jack, and can maintain an organized and accurate inventory environment.


Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
  • Receive, inspect, organize, and put away incoming warehouse materials.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels for materials used by network technicians.
  • Place materials in designated bins, shelves, cages, and storage locations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and request additional materials or return excess stock as needed.
  • Perform cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Process, package, and ship equipment, tools, and test sets requiring repair.
  • Prepare emergency or rush material orders for technicians.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Secure materials using strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.
  • Coordinate material transportation by telephone and email.
  • Assist with emergency delivery of out-of-service materials to designated local locations.
  • Handle various types of materials, including batteries and other regulated or hazardous materials.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly warehouse, garage, dock, cage, and yard areas.
  • Break down and dispose of empty boxes and warehouse waste promptly.
  • Replace bins and help rearrange the storeroom layout when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, managers, contractors, and other team members.
  • Troubleshoot inventory or material-related issues as they arise.


Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience.
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience operating or ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and lift gates.
  • Ability to load, unload, move, organize, and secure warehouse materials.
  • Experience with inventory stocking, cycle counting, order fulfillment, or warehouse organization.
  • Ability to follow written work orders, shipping instructions, and verbal directions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Willingness to work with different types of materials, including batteries being shipped for recycling.
  • Availability to work three full 8-hour shifts per week at the Waterloo location.


This is an onsite, part-time opportunity requiring approximately 24 hours per week. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Waterloo, Iowa location. Background check and drug test required.
