Job description

Electrician Helper - Hands-On Training, Real Career Path

Austin, TX    Full-Time    On-Site

Every great electrician started somewhere. This is where you start - learning the trade hands-on, next to the people who already know it cold. Previous solar installation experience is a big plus.

Freedom Power was born when Freedom Solar and Freedom HVAC joined forces to become Texas's complete whole-house energy company. We don't just install solar panels. We hand homeowners the keys to something bigger: control over their energy, their bills, and their future. We call it Energy Empowerment, and it's not a tagline - it's the reason we show up every day.

As an Electrician Helper, you'll work side by side with a Licensed Electrician, learning the real mechanics of the trade - wiring, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, racking, and modules - while keeping the job site safe, organized, and moving. Show up ready to learn, work hard, and follow instructions, and you'll walk away with real skills and a real shot at becoming licensed yourself.

What You'll Do

  • Observe and assist a Licensed Wireman, Journeyman, or Master Electrician, following their written or verbal instructions on every project.
  • Follow all relevant safety codes and guidelines while assisting with the installation and servicing of electrical equipment.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment, and always follow job-specific safety protocols.
  • Keep tools, parts, and materials organized, and make sure everything the electrician needs is on-site and ready.
  • Transport tools and materials to the electrician as needed throughout the job.
  • Help prepare and clean the work site before every project begins.
  • Clean and tidy the work area after every project - materials, dust, and debris, all handled.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Electrician.

What You Bring

  • Apprentice Electrician License (required)
  • OSHA 10 certification (required)
  • NABCEP Installer certificate or working knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Previous solar installation experience strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record

The Physical Side

  • Comfortable working in various positions - stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods
  • Able to lift 50 lbs frequently throughout the workday
  • Comfortable with heights and working in hot and cool climates

What's In It For You

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 100% Company-Sponsored Short-Term Disability
  • 401(k) Employer Matching
  • Weekly Pay Dates
  • 3 Weeks PTO + 3 Sick Days
  • 12 Paid Holidays + 1 Floating Holiday
  • Hands-on training and a real path toward becoming a licensed electrician
  • Upward mobility opportunities

One More Thing
