Job description

The Janitor Helper reports directly to the Head Janitor (property engineer), and while specific responsibilities will vary based on location, the janitor helper will be responsible for general cleaning, removal of refuse, sweeping and dusting of common areas.The ability to multi-task and be adaptive to changing responsibilities while keeping a positive attitude are crucial. Membership in the Union may be a requirement based on location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning including vacuuming carpets, refuse removal, cleaning of chute rooms, sweeping and mopping, snow removal

Cleaning of common areas including lobby, fitness center, party/media room, business center, restrooms, break room (as applicable)

Relieve door staff for lunch and breaks as needed

Assist in maintenance and medical emergencies as needed
Qualifications:

Experience working in multifamily facilities
Light plumbing, minor electrical and HVAC skills are needed
Educational requirements as based on union
Must be a self-starter and able to multi-task
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment which may require working holidays, weekends and nights based on needs at site location and in cases of emergency
Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
