Job description

The Administrative Secretary is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the Women and Children’s Services Department.  The Women and Children’s Services Administrative Secretary provides clerical support for the Director of the Women’s Service Line, the Director of the Children’s Service Line and the Nurse Managers.


Education:  HS/GED. Associate degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience: 

  • Three years experience in a clerical/secretarial role, preferably in a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.  Formal training in software applications strongly preferred. 
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, e-mail, maintaining schedules via computer, copier, fax machine, and miscellaneous audio-visual equipment.

Additional Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, phone, and written communications.
  • Working knowledge of English grammar and basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to type 35-50 wpm.
