Schedule: Varies, including weekends and evenings as needed

Position Summary

SuiteMate Staffing Solutions is seeking a compassionate and customer-focused Rescue Assistant (Adoption Counselor) to support Dallas Animal Services. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective adopters, providing exceptional customer service while helping connect pets with their forever homes.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with the public, has strong computer and administrative skills, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while making a positive impact on the lives of animals and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist prospective adopters in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Guide customers through the pet adoption process from start to finish.
  • Match animals with adopters based on lifestyle, compatibility, and household needs.
  • Explain adoption procedures, pet care information, and organization policies.
  • Process adoption applications and complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Enter and maintain adoption records using computer databases and software.
  • Answer customer questions and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Collaborate with the adoption team to achieve placement goals.
  • Assist with adoption events and community outreach activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming adoption area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
