Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to join our compassionate team in Springfield, Illinois. This full-time remote position offers the opportunity to provide effective in-community therapy for our diverse range of clients, specifically focused on children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Utilizing various telehealth platforms, you will provide therapy sessions, conduct meetings, and collaborate effectively with other professionals in an engaging and interactive environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be dynamic and impactful, including:

• Conducting individual in-home treatment sessions or group therapy sessions, tailoring approaches to meet each client's unique needs.
• Employing intervention strategies that target high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior and physical aggression, by teaching essential coping mechanisms, anger management, and social skills.
• Facilitating decision-making skills within both the youth and their caregivers to address behavioral challenges encountered at home.
• Collaborating with the Child and Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary specialists to ensure comprehensive support for the youth and family.
• Completing and submitting all relevant documentation—including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes—within specified timelines to maintain compliance and continuity of care.
• Participating in regular team meetings, sharing insights, and contributing to case discussions to improve therapeutic strategies.

You will primarily work with children and adolescents aged 3-20, many of whom have developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). Your role will focus on providing compassionate, individualized therapy that not only addresses behavioral challenges but also strengthens family dynamics and improves quality of life. By engaging with diverse families, you will learn to navigate different cultural contexts and educational needs.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Illinois.
• A commitment to a minimum of 5-10 hours of availability each week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) with flexibility for weekends being preferred.

• Having prior experience in positive behavior support strategies, particularly in developmental or educational settings.
• Experience working with children aged 3-20 and those with intellectual or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to in-home sessions.
• A willingness to undergo a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
